COUNSELLING IN Hemel Hempstead & THE SURROUNDING AREAS

Welcome to SLHWellbeing

Supporting healing from within

Sometimes, we go through life not feeling heard or seen by those around us. Maybe life feels lonely when you don't feel like you are being listened to and shown empathy for your thoughts, emotions and feelings, or you can't understand why others and yourself keep repeating behaviours or patterns. Maybe you are wanting someone to validate your experiences. Are you wanting more control in your life? Therapy could help you.

I offer a chance to reflect on the difficulties or problems you are experiencing in a safe and confidential environment, with someone from outside your day-to-day life.

Together we can explore your situation in a way that leads to fresh perspectives – and perhaps a new understanding of yourself. Therapy isn’t about giving you solutions or advice, but empowering you to make your own changes.

I work with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, coming to me with a diverse range of problems. As a fully-qualified therapist I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy, and abide by their code of ethics.

Working Integratively

I believe that building an open and honest rapport in the therapy room is key for the therapeutic relationship to achieve your needs, goals and desires from therapy whilst managing your fears and expectations. Creating a therapeutic environment with respect, non-judgement, empathy and compassion I believe will help support you on your journey of healing from within. For me, the only way to work is embracing your uniqueness and giving you the space and control to work effectively together at your pace, in a way that suits you best.

Creative Arts Therapy - working with image

Working integratively, we could work with multiple theories, skills and techniques that you may feel could benefit your approach to learning and self-development, meaning that my approach mirrors your uniqueness so that together we can ride the wave of your journey hoping that it will help you regain confidence, control and power in your life. I can offer both Integrative and Creative arts therapy in the formats of online, phone via voice or video call and face to face.

Walk & Talk

Additionally, I can also offer walk and talk therapy sessions in a suitable and safe location for us both. Walk & Talk therapy is offered seasonally from April-September with one of the other options from October through to March.

Therapy in a safe, comfortable and private setting

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor with an Apcca certificate in working with image. Person-Centred is at the core of my therapeutic practice but also work with TA (Transactional Analysis) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). Having therapy, myself, I have recognised the importance of feeling heard and listened to whilst I try to figure out solutions to my problems. This started because I have always wanted to understand myself in a more diverse, clear and nurturing manner. Going to therapy and training in counselling skills has been beneficial for me to understand my thoughts, my patterns of behavior and my coping mechanisms. I was able to develop and grow into the person I wanted to be rather than the person I thought I should be. The passion to share this gift of support and acknowledgment started my counselling journey.
